Happily. Account Deletion

Happily · Last updated June 16, 2026

This page explains how consumer account deletion works in Happily and how deletion relates to Apple subscriptions.

In-App Deletion Path

Signed-in consumer users can request account deletion from Settings in the Happily app by choosing the account deletion option.

The backend route for the in-app flow is DELETE /auth/me and requires a valid consumer bearer session. Signed-out requests are rejected.

What Is Deleted Or Revoked

On successful account deletion, Happily revokes active consumer sessions, deletes private/personal rows where supported, removes push devices and notification preferences, removes saves, follows, lists, blocks created by the user, badges, claims, event participation, AI usage rows, and App Store entitlement snapshots.

Happily scrubs identifying profile fields on the retained user record, including email, phone number, username, bio, profile photo URL, home neighborhood, preference data, and stored Apple refresh token where present.

Where Sign in with Apple token revocation is configured and a refresh token is available, Happily attempts to revoke the Sign in with Apple authorization. Apple revocation is best-effort and does not block deletion if Apple is temporarily unavailable.

What May Be Retained

Public trust-history contributions may be retained for accuracy, moderation, abuse prevention, legal compliance, dispute handling, and service integrity. This may include happy hour reports, confirmations, corrections, proofs, comments, duplicate signals, and moderation reports.

Retained public contributions are associated with the scrubbed deleted-user record where supported, so your former name, handle, email, and profile photo are no longer shown.

Some operational logs, backups, legal records, security records, App Store transaction audit data, and moderation records may be retained for limited periods when needed for legal, security, fraud prevention, or service-integrity reasons.

Subscriptions Are Separate

Deleting your Happily account does not automatically cancel an Apple subscription.

You must manage or cancel Happily+ in your Apple Account subscription settings. To avoid renewal, cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
